From heartbeats to handlebars – our journey celebrates every ride and every story.
Founded in 2024 by heart transplant recipient and cycling fanatic, Billy Macleod, Redline Rides began as a passion project to promote organ donation and enhance the experience of cyclists at The Big Red Barn.
At Redline Rides, our goal is to make cycling an enjoyable and accessible experience for everyone. Through e-bike technology and personalised services, we aim to create a welcoming and non-judgmental space where individuals can reconnect with the outdoors and rediscover the joy of life.
Inspired by my own journey as a heart transplant recipient, I want to honour my donor and share the lessons I've learned, offering hope to those navigating life's challenges. Whether you're renting, riding, or refreshing your bike, we're here to provide exceptional service and share the transformative power of cycling.
To build a community where everyone, regardless of their experience or background, feels they belong and finds the courage to never give up.
At Redline Rides, we envision creating an inclusive space—a club or gathering point—where health, enjoyment, and the love of cycling bring people together. Our goal is to inspire others to embrace life and its possibilities, showing that there’s always something to live for.
Redline Rides is more than just a place to rent bikes, get a fast repair, or a quick bike wash at The Big Red Barn – it’s a celebration of life and the passion for cycling that runs deep in every heartbeat. Founded in 2024 by Billy Macleod, a heart transplant recipient and avid cyclist, Redline Rides is built on a story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

Meet Billy Macleod: Cyclist, Heart Transplant Recipient, and Advocate
Redline Rides is more than just a place to rent bikes, get a quick bike wash, or a fast repair at The Big Red Barn – it’s a celebration of life and the passion for cycling that runs deep in every heartbeat. Founded in 2024 by Billy Macleod, a heart transplant recipient and avid cyclist, Redline Rides is built on a story of second chances and living life to the fullest.
Two years ago, Billy’s life changed forever when he received a life-saving heart transplant. With a renewed sense of purpose and an undying gratitude for the gift he was given, Billy turned his passion for cycling into a mission. Every ride now carries a deeper meaning, honouring the incredible generosity of organ donors and the new life gifted to recipients like him. It’s this spirit of adventure and appreciation that fuels everything we do at Redline Rides.
At Redline Rides, we believe that every cyclist deserves a memorable experience, whether it’s exploring new trails on a bike, keeping their ride in top shape, or simply sharing stories with fellow cycling enthusiasts. Our services – bike rentals, bike washing, and quick repairs – are designed to make every ride smooth, safe, and unforgettable. And for Billy, each interaction is a chance to advocate for organ donation, sharing his journey and inspiring others to give the gift of life.
Join us at The Big Red Barn and become part of this extraordinary adventure. Because at Redline Rides, it’s not just about cycling; it’s about celebrating life, honouring those who make it possible, and enjoying every heartbeat of the ride.

Hero777 is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness about organ and tissue donation in South Africa. Established in 2016, it operates as a project of the ENZA Trust, aiming to educate the public and encourage registrations for organ and tissue donation through various media channels and events.
Being a heart transplant recipient and avid cyclist, Billy is closely associated with Hero777. Following his transplant, Billy has been actively involved in raising awareness about organ donation, often participating in cycling events under the Hero777 banner to honour his donor and promote the cause. Notably, he became the first South African heart transplant recipient to complete the three-day KAP sani2c mountain bike stage race, using the platform to support Hero777's mission.
Through his endeavours, Billy exemplifies Hero777's commitment to saving lives by increasing the number of registered organ and tissue donors in South Africa - if 7 people tell 7 friends, and repeat this 7 times, they will reach over 800 000 people.
